Mr. Wilgis served as a Senior Vice President with TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (TESS), a leading distributor for the wireless communications industry.
Mr. Wilgis' experience was centered on optimizing product and service supply chains, with a focus on channel management involving distribution companies. Optimization has included the creation of niche services for manufacturers and wireless service providers, acquisition of segments of the supply chain, pricing strategy across channels, and channel strategy development for manufacturers.
Mr. Wilgis' personal style is best characterized as a "change leader".
The network of executive relationships Mr. Wilgis has developed is centered on three primary groups; manufacturers in the wireless industry, distributors focusing on technology products, and regional contacts in the venture community.
While at TESSCO, Mr. Wilgis founded three new businesses; The Training Services Business Unit was founded in 2004, The Component Parts Business Unit was founded in 1999, and now generates over $25 million in annual sales The TESSCO Strategic Solutions Business Unit was founded by Mr. Wilgis in 1996, and has grown to over $200 million in revenues in 2004.
Mr. Wilgis started his career in construction management with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Immediately following graduation from college, he joined three other young men to start Whiting-Turner's West Coast office. Over a four-year period this office went from a start-up to delivering over $50 million in annual contracts. During his tenure with Whiting-Turner, Mr. Wilgis gained unparalleled early career experience in project execution and budgeting, skills which are the basis for much of his success later on.
Mr. Wilgis earned a Bachelor's Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the Duke University-School of Engineering and his MBA from The University of Virginia-Darden School of Business. Mr. Wilgis is a member of the National Association of Wholesale-Distributors, Association for Corporate Growth, and the Cellular Telephone Industry Association. His volunteer activities include serving on the Alumni Board of Directors for the Calvert School in Baltimore, MD.
