Thomas Pedroni, Jr.
Mr. Pedroni is an experienced healthcare consultant, senior business executive, and attorney, bringing an extensive regional and national network in the healthcare industry. Mr. Pedroni is currently the Managing Administrative Member of Hodes, Ullman, Pessin & Katz, P.A., also managing this multi-office regional firm's healthcare group.
Previously, Mr. Pedroni was senior counsel to publicly traded Magellan Health Services, Inc., the largest managed behavioral healthcare company in the country with approximately $2 billion in annual revenue and 64 million covered lives under contract.
Prior to joining Magellan, Mr. Pedroni was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of DentalCo, Inc., a venture capital-backed, national dental practice management company, with owned or affiliated practices in 10 states with annual revenues in excess of $70,000,000.
As a Vice President of Health Care Services for national insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm, Alexander & Alexander, and as an independent practitioner, Mr. Pedroni has consulted on issues related to strategic mergers and acquisitions, managed care, captive insurance companies, regulatory development and compliance, medical malpractice, and the identification and evaluation of new liability issues and business risk. His clients have included Johns Hopkins Health System, Dimensions Health System, Inova Health System, Magellan Corporation, Kaiser Permanente, Helix Health System and Manor Care.
Mr. Pedroni has also served as Managing Attorney for The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation, the world-renowned medical institution including multi-hospital health system, medical school, and fully integrated delivery organization.
Mr. Pedroni has been a prolific author and lecturer in the areas of medical-legal risk, the business of medicine, managed care, privacy and e-health issues. An honors graduate from Johns Hopkins University, Mr. Pedroni earned his J.D. with honors from the University Of Maryland School Of Law.
