Baltimore, MD - July 27, 2007-
Earlier this week, Nobska Ventures' portfolio company, ClassifEye, Ltd.,
announced that 3 leading IT security gurus joined the company's Technical
Advisory Board. For more information see
www.classifeye.com.
Coincidentally, one of these Advisors, Dr. Avi Rubin, and his team at
Independent Security Evaluators, announced this week that they had found a
flaw in Apple's iPhone. This flaw would enable a malicious hacker to take
control of the phone, exposing valuable data as well as to coordinate
massive attacks through the network. Avi and his team have reported the flaw
to Apple, including a simple software patch.
See the details here. The story, reported in various media,
including the New York Times, US News & World Report, and Forbes, has become
one of the most widely read on the web over the past days. See
the New York Times article here.
Avi is a member of Nobska Ventures' Board of Advisors
(See Avi's bio here) and Technical Director of the Johns Hopkins
University Information Security Institute. Among other accomplishments, Avi
and his team at ISE have previously attracted widespread attention for
having been the first to point out the security flaws of Diebold electronic
voting machines. ISE has numerous clients in financial services and
information technology, who proactively use them to test and improve the
security of their systems and products. see

Nobska heartily congratulates Avi and his colleagues !
