Fairfax County Virginia Economic Development Authority and the Israeli Export & International Cooperation Institute jointly sponsored a two-day Homeland Security event at the Center for Innovative Technologies in Herndon, VA. Cutting edge Israeli companies were invited to the event to learn about security technology transfer, U.S. market development, and financing. Dr. Ari Tuchman of Nobska Ventures spoke to the assembled group regarding “What VCs and Strategic Partners Are Looking For in Security Technologies”.

The Trendlines Group and Maryland Israel Development Center (MIDC) were among the sponsors for a day-long seminar, U. S. Market Entry Strategy for Israeli Medical Device and Life Science Companies. More than 80 people from the Israeli health care community participated in this seminar held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tel Aviv. Featured speakers during the day included Nobska Ventures’ Dr. Gary Applebaum who delivered an address titled “How to recruit U.S. physician champions and how to use them” and participated on a panel titled “Reimbursement Strategies: Real Life Stories”.

The Capital Israel Business Network held a Roundtable Discussion “The Israeli Economy: The Year in Review and Prospects for the Year Ahead” at the offices of Mintz Levin in Washington, DC. Attendees included executives from Israeli companies, local investors, and regional government leaders. The discussion was led by Dr. Ari Tuchman, Managing Director of Nobska Ventures, Vered Bisker-Leib of MedImmune and Ron Dermer, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Embassey of Israel.
