Network Security Consulting (NSC), a leader in organizational information security, today announced the appointment of Timothy Satterfield as Chief Executive Officer. Satterfield, an experienced information industry executive, will lead the company’s growth as it deploys its innovative Common Compliance Framework software.
The Common Compliance Framework™ (CCF) is a business driven approach to information security and compliance culminating from years of research and experience helping organizations address the complexity of information security and compliance across the enterprise. Using the CCF, an organization’s information security program becomes a strategic business enabler, allowing proactive decision making for the many business drivers affecting security and compliance, such as governmental regulations, internal auditor requirements, business partner demands, and best practices, in addition to traditional security threats.
Satterfield will drive market penetration of the enterprise-level CCF solution and will lead the company’s business development efforts with customers and partners. Most recently, he served as President & CEO of Thompson Publishing Group in Washington, DC, a leading compliance publisher. Satterfield envisions a close link between NSC’s CCF solution and compliance information. “The CCF offers a unique workflow tool for communicating critical security information to key stakeholders. Its wide-ranging impact across the enterprise provides the opportunity for delivering value-added compliance data and analysis. Organizations today face ever-increasing complex demands for security and compliance. The CCF allows for a comprehensive, business-specific approach to meeting these demands and monitoring activity.”
Prior to leading Thompson, Satterfield served as President & CEO of Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a $150 million-plus leading health sciences information provider owned by Wolters Kluwer. Robert Rosenbaum, Partner at Nobska Ventures, a private equity firm in Baltimore with a leading investment position in NSC, comments, “We are pleased to attract an executive of Tim’s caliber and experience. We see a natural link between professional information and the features of the CCF and believe Tim will bring them together successfully for NSC customers.”
Trey Guerin, co-founder of NSC, notes, “Tim brings a level of executive management drive and experience needed to accelerate the growth and adoption of the CCF. We are excited to have him leading our excellent team.” About NSC: Currently in its fifth year of business, NSC is an established information security firm committed to assisting its clients with the creation and maintenance of their Information Security Business Function.
